Job Description

A $1500 one-time new hire stipend for all newly hired, full-time Correctional Officer positions at qualifying facilities. Eligible team members will be paid this stipend on their first scheduled paycheck after employment, contingent upon achieving all requirements associated with the assignment as outlined in the New Hire Training Stipend Agreement which includes, but not limited to, completion of a Peer-to-Peer training certification during the first week of employment. Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive: A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center). A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility. A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility. The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years! Correctional Officers at our facility must uphold and enforce the law as well as facility rules, protect our citizens from harm, maintain security and do so with compassion. The successful candidate will be required to enforce all policies and procedures related to security, and watch over and maintain custody of the offender population. We provide world class training and no experience is required.
Responsibilities:
Observe and report criminal and suspicious activity to the appropriate person. Enforce rules and regulations. Conduct routine searches for contraband. Monitor, evaluate, and supervise offenders in an assigned area. Support offenders in rehabilitative activities.
