JOB SUMMARY

•The Non-Certified Officer performs security duties for the Montana State Prison main lobby entrance. Duties include processing visitors and staff through the secure lobby entrance, monitoring all items being brought into the facility by searching bags and individuals, as well as maintaining entrance logbooks. This position may also cross train to assist with Montana State Prison visiting as needed. Lock doors, windows, and gates of entrances and exits to secure building.. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to provide safety and guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Answer alarms, investigate, resolve, and document disturbances. Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Answer telephone calls, questions, and provide information while performing security work.
