Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Correctional Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and fostering a rehabilitative environment for inmates. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle conflict effectively, and a commitment to upholding the law. Responsibilities
  • Monitor inmate activities and behavior to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises, including the use of CCTV systems to enhance security.
  • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, applying CPR and First Aid as necessary.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Enforce disciplinary measures when necessary while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement personnel during investigations or emergencies.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills in conflict management and report writing.
  • Maintain accurate records of inmate movements and facility operations. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in conflict management are a plus.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement or correctional settings is advantageous.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective report writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also exercising independent judgment.
  • Must pass background checks and meet all physical fitness requirements as stipulated by the facility.
