Job Description

Kay County Detention Center is looking to hire Detention Officers.
YOU MUST BE 18 TO APPLY.
You will be responsible for the custody and control of inmates; security of the jail; physical movement of inmates; and all inmate needs. Basic data entry; in application of jail techniques; in maintaining security of inmates; and in application of principles of supervision. Knowledge of radio system/10 codes; of CPR; of inter-department correspondence, of policies, rules and regulations pertaining to jail operations; of security techniques; of jail records; and of jail standard operating procedures. Must be alert and vigilant; to exercise initiative and independent judgment; to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and to deal tactfully with others. Qualifications
  • Strong core skills in security and conflict management
  • Premium skills in CCTV monitoring, first aid, law enforcement, CPR, and military background
  • Relevant skill in report writing
  • Previous supervising experience is preferred
  • U.S. CITIZEN OR RESIDENT ALIENT
