Job Description

Correctional Officer I (Part-Time)
Job Type:
Full Time Deadwood, SD Lawrence County Sheriff's Office Salary:
$24.08 to $26.61
Essential Functions:
Processes Inmates, Conducts Work Release Program, Controls Inmate Movement, and Provides Routine Medical Care to Prisoners. Maintains Corrections Data Base, and Exhibits Concern for the Physical Welfare of All Prisoners. He/She must be capable of obtaining a working knowledge of Jail Duties.
Requirements:
Corrections Experience Desired. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. He/She must be capable of becoming fluent in the LCSO Custody Division Policy Manual. He/She must possess sound interpersonal skills which would enable them to work with fellow staff, prisoners, court officers, and the general public. He/she must meet and pass medical exam and minimum standards, pass pre-employment drug screen, and pre-employment physical agility screen.
