Job Description

Correctional Officer Duties:
  • Maintain security and control within a correctional facility
  • Monitor inmate activities and behavior
  • Conduct searches of inmates and their living areas
  • Enforce rules and regulations
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain order
  • Write reports detailing incidents and activities
Experience:
  • Previous experience in corrections or military is preferred (but not required)
  • Knowledge of conflict management techniques (but not required)
  • Familiarity with CCTV monitoring systems (but not required)
  • First aid and CPR certification is a plus (will go through training) As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of the correctional facility.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring inmate activities, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies. Strong report writing skills are essential for documenting incidents and maintaining accurate records. To excel in this role, previous experience in corrections or the military is preferred. You should have a solid understanding of conflict management techniques and be able to effectively handle challenging situations. Familiarity with CCTV monitoring systems is also beneficial. Having first aid and CPR certification is an advantage as you may be required to provide medical assistance when needed.
