Starting salary
  • $59,962 annually $27.45 Hourly @ 1 year of service
  • $63,062 annually $28.87 Hourly @ 2 years of service
  • $66,163 annually $30.
29 Hourly Step increases dependent on satisfactory performance. Duties Work involves admitting and booking inmates, supervising and ensuring security of inmates and jail. Receiving and maintaining an inventory of inmate property and supplies, performing control operations, preparing and transporting inmates. Other duties may include monitoring cameras and emergency systems, and performing telephone and radio communications. Go to the recruiting website www.gctxso.com for more information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Must meet Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Rules and Regulations. Supervise and care of inmates in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age. Valid Texas Driver's License. Must pass background and records check, psychological test, physical exam, physical readiness test and drug test. State certified a plus. Able to work any shift, weekends, and holidays. .
