SUMMARY:
Under general supervision primarily provides planning, transportation, and assistance to youth programs. Reports to the JJAEP Administrator, Deputy Director and Director of Juvenile Services.
DUTIES:
Prepares reports pertaining to but not limited to: Daily Log, Incident Reports, etc. Ability to restrain youth when deem necessary. Provides safe and prompt transportation of juvenile probation clients to programs when needed. Performs all duties in compliance with department safety policies and procedures. Performs vehicle inspection prior to use. Reports vehicle safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible. Performs other related duties as required. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers and supervisors. Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate, experience working with youth preferred. Other Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be eligible to be certified as a Community Activities Officer (CAO) by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
- Must hold a valid Texas driver license and liability insurance coverage.
- Driving record must reflect acceptable rating by Ellis County to operate a county vehicle.
