II QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Special Education experience preferred. Valid Fingerprint clearance card issued by the AZ DPS. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff and the public. Master Teacher's ParaEducator Certificate
REPORTS TO
Principal
JOB GOAL
To contribute to effective school/public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquiries with students, staff and the public. Promote a positive, uplifting atmosphere for our school. .
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Life Skills (including dealing with female/male puberty). Nursing/keeping medications schedules, watching for signs of seizures and proper use of medical equipment. Safety of Medically fragile children. Communication and cooperation with general education teachers and parents. Sign Language Diapering, feeding, potty training, hygiene. Full time supervision of students. Paperwork/documentation as requested by teachers. Escorting students to and from the buses. Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 month position, 35 hours per week.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the Governing Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
