Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a highly rewarding opportunity supporting a high school student on a one-on-one basis as a Braille-fluent professional. This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 11, 2027, totaling 30 hours per week and coincides with the 2026-2027 school year calendar. You'll be instrumental in helping a student with low cognitive abilities develop vital braille literacy skills, enabling greater independence and engagement in their education. Bring your expertise as a Braillist, Paraprofessional, or SLI with braille teaching abilities, and make a meaningful difference every day.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Demonstrated fluency in braille and experience supporting students with visual impairments Background as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, Braillist, Paraprofessional, or SLI qualified to instruct in braille Patience, compassion, and a nurturing approach to working one-on-one with students who have additional learning needs Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with classroom teachers and special education staff Knowledge of best practices for braille instruction and assistive technology (preferred)
