Corpus Christi, TX Job Details Part-time | Contract $13 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Child safety supervision Performing background checks Social services Full Job Description Absolution Health Care, Inc. is seeking reliable and responsible individuals to observe visits between children and parents who are under the custody of Child Protective Services (CPS). You MUST be available Evening and Weekends. If you want weekends off, please do not apply. These visits will take place during the evenings and weekends, due to parents work schedule and children's school schedule.
OBSERVER QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (proof is required) minimum of twelve (12) months/1 year full time experience working in childcare or social service agency serving families and children. (At home babysitting will be considered) Pass background check indicating no history of child abuse, or criminal acts involving danger to a child. Must have access to a scanner or mobile app scanner to send documents. Must be efficient is composing/sending emails
OBSERVER JOB DESCRIPTION
Observers are hired at a contract basis (1099). Which gives the employee the option to select visits according to the Observer's schedule. Observers must arrive 15 minutes before scheduled visits. Observers have the option to accept an assignment or decline, due to the set schedule or location that is provided by DFPS. Service hours are flexible to include morning, afternoon, evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays to accommodate the schedules of participants. This includes accommodating school age children by scheduling services at times that do not interfere with school attendance and activities. Observers will contact referred clients within 24 hours of receiving a referral. Observers will comply with all DFPS referral instructions, confirm the visitation schedule, confirm who may participate in the visits, ensure visit participants are allotted their full time for a visit, obtain necessary approval for the site location, secure an appropriate visitation site. Observers will meet with the adult participants prior to the children being present and immediately before the first supervised visit begins for the purpose of preparing the adults to ensure a productive supervised visit. Observer will monitor the visit and observe and be present for the entire visit and be attentive to the interactions of the participants. Observer will document observations of the parent's or caregiver's interactions with the child(ren) during the visit or interactions and observations between siblings during the sibling visits. Court related services are not optional and Observer will be present in court if subpoenaed to testify regarding a visitation. Observer will be accompanied by a representative of Absolution Health Care, INC. if required to testify in court. Observers will be assessed by caseworkers of DFPS in relation to their performance as an observer and quality of paperwork that is submitted. Once an Observer accepts a referral, he/she has committed to conducting the visit. If an Observer is not able to conduct the scheduled visit, he/she must notify Absolution Health Care, Inc. within 48 hours before the scheduled visit in order to find a replacement. Each assignment can be any where from 2-4 hours daily, and up too 8 hours, lasting up to 3 months for each assignment. Not all assignments are daily. Observer will able to view schedule before accepting the assignment. Observers have the option to create their schedule and accept several cases. Payment to Observer is once a month on the 22nd of every month. This a great opportunity to earn extra income, with not to much of leg work. Your job is to show up on time, properly observe a visit between children and families and properly document the visit on the required forms. Visits usually last between 2-4 hours. We welcome, teachers, caregivers, retired teachers, anyone is social services field as well.
