at State of Delaware in Georgetown, Delaware, United States Job Description The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking exceptional, highly motivated individuals to join the Criminal Division as a casual/seasonal Legal Administrative Specialist in the Sussex County Misdemeanor Trial Unit. Legal Administrative Specialists at the Delaware Department of Justice play a vital role in supporting the work of the Criminal Division in Sussex County. Legal Administrative Specialists provide essential administrative and legal support to Deputy Attorneys General and staff within the Misdemeanor Trial Unit. Responsibilities may vary as operational need necessitates, but in this assignment, generally include preparing and maintaining DUI related legal case files and documentation; conducting criminal record checks; requesting police and investigative reports; typing and proofreading legal correspondence and documents; assisting with discovery preparation; scheduling and maintaining calendars; preparing subpoena lists; filing documents; and ensuring accurate and organized case records. These positions require strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Legal Administrative Specialists also interact professionally with law enforcement, victims, witnesses, and members of the public and may provide back-up coverage for the main Criminal Division Receptionist during absences. This is a Casual/Seasonal position, currently approved to work up to 37.5 hours per week and is non-pension eligible without healthcare and/or other benefits.
