Competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefits About WREC At Weed Reconstruction and Expert Consulting (WREC), we specialize in forensic consulting, focusing on vehicle crash analysis, scene reconstruction, and expert litigation support. Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accident Reconstructionist to provide expert analyses and testify through deposition and in trial as necessary. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to clients and in legal settings. Key Responsibilities Lead detailed analyses of motor vehicle collisions, including multi-vehicle crashes, commercial vehicle incidents, and pedestrian or cyclist-related accidents. Perform field inspections of crash scenes and vehicles, collecting data, measurements, and photographic evidence. Retrieve and analyze event data recorder (EDR) data and other digital evidence, such as body-worn camera footage and surveillance videos. Utilize advanced crash analysis tools and software, including Recon 3D, Drone, FARO, and others. Document and preserve evidence obtained, prepare written reports of findings and provide expert testimony in litigation as necessary. Stay current with advancements in crash reconstruction methodologies and technologies. Must be a team-player, able to direct others but also take direction. Qualifications ACTAR accreditation or ability to sit for ACTAR upon employment. 2+ years' experience working at a private reconstruction firm or law enforcement officers with 2+ years on the specialized accident reconstruction unit. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CAD or simulation software is advantageous. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and draft expert reports. Ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously and meet deadlines. Willingness to travel for fieldwork and inspections, occasionally on short notice and/or overnight. Must be a self-starter capable of bringing tasks to completion without direct oversight or micromanaging. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, physics, math, criminal justice, forensics, or related field. Completion of crash reconstruction coursework from institutions such as IPTM or Northwestern University. Proven track record of providing expert testimony in court. Physical Demands and Travel Requirements Ability to perform field inspections, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform inspections in the elements (e.g., rain, snow, cold, heat). Travel, including overnight trips, is required. Why Join WREC?
