Job Description
The Property Room and Investigations Technician is responsible for managing the property room, assisting the investigations team, and managing interns.
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation. Manage and oversee the day to day operations of the property room, including incoming and outgoing property and evidence. Responsible for inventory and budget of supplies for the property room, evidence collection/processing, and other department supplies. E-file search warrants. Manage all digital evidence. Assist with evidence collection at search warrants and crime scenes. Coordinate the delivery of all evidence to the BCA and other labs. Process all discovery requests from the County and City Attorneys' offices (digital and physical evidence) Handle all forfeitures, including cash and vehicles, with the County Attorney's office, report all forfeitures to the state, handle all licensing and titling for undercover vehicles. Responsible for hiring and supervising department interns. Handle and dispose of bio-hazard and other hazardous materials. Assist other departments and employees as necessary. Continually show respect for diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and interests. Exhibit sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences in all duties performed on behalf of the City to support Roseville in building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment and community. This position is in-person with limited flexibility Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years related experience in law enforcement Required to obtain BCA Crime Scene Certification, BCA Forensic DNA for Law Enforcement Certificate, International Association of Property and Evidence Certification, BCA Gun - Return of a Firearm training, BCA CJIS Security and Awareness Training, BCA Single Certification within 1 year of hire date. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 75% work is in a normal office environment and 25% is in the field. Exposure to violent, stressful, explicit, medical and dangerous situations and reports can be expected. Lifting or moving up to 60 pounds or less is required. Approximately 45-70% of time, work is performed at a high level of detail or pressure of deadlines. Activities that occur constantly (5-8 hours/shift): hearing, feeling, talking Activities that occur frequently (2-5 hours/shift): standing, walking, sitting Activities that occur occasionally (up to 2 hours/shift): lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, repetitive motions, hand/foot/eye coordination Activities that occur rarely (do not exist as regular part of job)
