Job Description

The Intelligence Analyst performs technical, analytical, and administrative work in support of the Northwest Narcotics Task Force. This position is responsible for researching, compiling, and analyzing criminal intelligence data from various sources to identify trends and assist in criminal investigations. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and may change with or without notice. Incumbents must be able to perform the essential function of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Utilizes specialized computer applications to gather and analyze criminal intelligence data Tracks department statistics and completes required reporting, such as Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and grants, according to guidelines Develops reports, charts, and other presentations based on the analysis of intelligence data Maintains a digital library of departmental evidentiary files, photographs, and audio records; provides copies to courts, attorneys, and the public following established policies and laws Administers the RISS Money Counter Network system for the Northwest Narcotics Task Force Assists law enforcement in obtaining pen registers, processing received information, and conducting analysis Utilizes Cellebrite software for data extraction and analysis to further investigations involving multiple agencies Validates intelligence data using open-source or confidential data sources Assists in maintaining custody, inventory control, and safeguards for all items of evidence Follows established laws, standards, and guidelines, including, but not limited to, chain of custody, evidence access requests, shipping and transporting procedures, and retention periods Maintains accurate documentation of all cases and intelligence Provides testimony in court regarding the evidence process and information provided Assists with record checks and general clerical duties as needed Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code. Associate degree in criminal justice, public administration, social science, computer science, business administration, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License or equivalent Must obtain and maintain security certification from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations Must pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening Work is intermittently performed in a windowless storage facility and off-site internal and external environments with exposure to inclement weather, varying temperatures, and noxious fumes; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required when handling items known or suspected to be harboring contamination from chemicals, bodily fluids, bio-hazardous materials, drugs, flammables, and otherwise unidentified contaminants. Transportation of evidence to regional centers may sporadically require travel to destinations within 250 miles of Williston.
Compensation:
Starting pay ranges from $25.98 to $28.71 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
