The City of Southlake Police Department is seeking a highly motivated Crime Analyst & Victim Liaison to play a vital role in both public safety and victim support. What You Will Be Doing:
The Crime Analyst & Victim Liaison will collect, collate, analyze, and disseminate crime-related data in the most relevant, actionable format to support strategic and tactical decision-making and to inform police leadership on the most effective deployment of resources for crime prevention and suppression. These data may include, but are not limited to: historical crime statistics, victimology, suspect profiles, modus operandi and related crime series, internal and external information, intelligence, and officer-safety bulletins. This position contributes to crime reduction strategies, supports case development, and strengthens partnerships with prosecutors, service providers, and the community. In addition, this position seeks to maintain contact with crime victims in order to develop victim profiles, ascertain victim/offender relationships, inform victims of their rights, educate on available services, assist with the location of victim services, arrange for emergency shelter for endangered victims/witnesses, and inform victims of prosecutorial procedures to provide victim support throughout the criminal justice process. Other functions of the position include serving on the criminal investigations team in a support capacity, assisting with investigations and day-to-day operations, keeping required logs, and submitting reports. What You Bring To Us:
A two-year degree is preferred A certification through the Center for Crime Intelligence and Crime Analysis (CICA), Law Enforcement Analysts Foundation (LEAF), Building Expertise and Analytical Readiness (BEAR) Academy or Certified Law Enforcement Analysts (CLEA), or equivalent certification must be obtained within two years of hire date. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Must be available to work after-hours, weekends, or holidays and to be on call for victim assistance. Must have a valid Texas driver's license at the time of hire. Proficiency with i2 Analyst's Notebook software preferred. Familiarity with Geographical Information Systems (ArcGIS software) preferred.
