ABOUT A Student Assistant (SA) at TJC plays an important role in promoting the mission of the department/office and college. The SA is required to perform various clerical tasks that aid in maintaining an organized workflow of the department/office. •Student Assistant positions are subject to a maximum of 18 hours per week.
WHAT YOU WILL DO ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS and DUTIES Assist with the set-up of weekly forensic exercises and mock crime scenes. Assist with the clean-up of the forensic lab following weekly exercises. Inventory and stock various supplies in forensics labs. Delivering paperwork and/or packages on campus. Assist with basic office administration and other work as needed: this may include coordinating/gathering data; filing, copying, or scanning documents; answering telephones, etc. Assist with other duties, as assigned by other F aculty in the department (as needed). Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

WHO YOU ARE QUALIFICATIONS
Students must be registered for undergraduate classes and maintain enrollment status to work in these positions. Students may qualify for Federal Work Study, which will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Additional Job-Specific Requirements Students are allowed to work a maximum of eighteen (18) hours per week and cannot work in multiple hourly positions. A work week is Sunday-Saturday. Students need to possess a basic knowledge of the American Criminal Justice System, Rules of Evidence, and Crime Scene Forensics.
