Performs a variety of complex criminal investigations for the District Attorney's Office, including assisting and coordinating efforts with other law enforcement agencies and assisting in court and/or trial preparation and testimony.

While the full pay range is posted, this position has a budgeted starting salary of $34.17 per hour.

Maintains work records and case files and prepares reports, billings and other administrative documents. Works with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the coordination of case activities and their development for legal action. Works closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in locating, arresting and prosecuting fugitives. Functions as a liaison with location and outside agencies when conducting major investigations to ensure prosecutorial standards are met. Networks with local and outside agencies. Locates and interviews victims and witnesses and records their statements. Interrogates suspects. Locates, collects and preserves evidence; arranges for technical analysis of evidence as appropriate. Writes reports of investigations and confers with attorneys regarding cases. Testifies in court; advises prosecuting attorneys of facts likely to be presented in testimony. Photographs, video tapes and sketches crime scenes. Develops informants. Analyzes network statements of persons suspected of white collar crimes. Performs convert, undercover and surveillance assignments. Performs community relations work. Provides office security. Serves subpoenas and summons. Serves as course instructor. Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
EDUCATION
High School or GED equivalency required Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice or equivalent experience preferred
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year law enforcement experience required
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
POST Certification
CRS 16-2.5-104
(1) required Valid driver's license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver's license at time of hire required
