Department Department of Student Support and Transitions Responsibilities Trains and supervises a team of investigators (Including one full-time Investigator) to collect the relevant facts related to alleged violations of the Florida State University Student Conduct Code and Student Organization Conduct Code (Non-Title IX); develops and maintains thorough and well-documented investigative processes by gathering and documenting evidentiary material; develops and maintains accurate and thorough records and notes of investigatory procedures; establishes timely communication with all parties involved in an investigation; acts as an objective party through all aspects of an investigation, while promoting a fair and neutral process for all parties involved. Authors and approves timely, professionally written, and comprehensive, investigative reports; appropriately analyzes and logically presents in reports the investigative facts of investigations. Leads investigations that are non-Title IX at Florida State University. Make decisions on the approach to the investigation, who to involve, and how to process investigations. Creates and adheres to investigations process to follow up on reports received and determine appropriate actions. Oversees the administration of report.fsu.edu and updates reports as needed for the FSU community. Routes reports to appropriate offices and ensures proper follow-up. Receives and oversees reports of hazing, student organization conduct, and individual misconduct (if applicable to the student organization investigation) for follow-up through the investigation process. Coordinates the Level 5 Maxient user group and serves as a resource for Maxient users at FSU. Dean on Duty responsibilities on a rotational basis. Each Assistant and Associate Dean within DSST is required to serve as "Dean on Duty". During this time, the employee is responsible for managing all after hour crisis management situations, and triage emergency situations requiring a response from Student Affairs. These responses include acting independently and representing student affairs and, in some cases, the entire University during very sensitive crisis situations Trains students and student organization advisors about the investigative process. Holds training sessions to educate individuals and organizations about the process for student and student organization investigations and the life of a report from submission to completion. Serves as a liaison to Student Activities and Fraternity & Sorority Life regarding the Student Organization Conduct Code and expectations for student organization conduct. Qualifications Master's degree in Student Affairs/Personnel, Law, or related field, and two years of investigation experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs/Personnel, Law, or related field, and four years of investigation experience.
