  • 6/28/2026 Key Responsibilities Principal Duties As an Investigator, you will: Investigate motor vehicle fraud and other crimes, such as auto theft, chop shops, odometer fraud, and salvage vehicle fraud.
Assist the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division regulating the automobile industry. Regulate and issue licenses to New and Used Automobile Dealers, Crushers, Dismantlers, and Body Shops. The Ideal Candidate The MVED Investigator II will assist the division in fulfilling the mission by: Conducting investigations Researching and gathering evidence Interviewing witnesses Documenting the investigative process May serve as an expert witness Conduct undercover operations Have 5 years of law enforcement experience as an officer, investigator, deputy, etc. Qualifications Requirements Job requires CAT I (LEO) POST certification; Peace Officer Standards Training in Utah. Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per
UCA53-3-202
(1)(a). You must be in compliance with tax filings and vehicle registration. The Tax Commission requires a federal level background investigation on all employees. About the Role Location
