Investigator

The 81st Judicial District Attorney's Office is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking, experienced criminal investigator. Our office serves the following counties: Atascosa, Wilson, Karnes, Frio, and La Salle. The office is headquartered at 1105 A Street in Floresville.

DUTIES:

• Provides investigative assistance to felony prosecutors from grand jury through jury trial and appeal.
• Attends appropriate court proceedings and performs security escorts of victims, witnesses, and staff as necessary.
• Provides audio/visual technical trial assistance to prosecutors during trial.
• Locates, subpoenas, and coordinates courtroom appearances for victims, witnesses, and officers.
• Provides supplemental investigations into pending cases as necessary.
• Performs preliminary investigations into allegations of public officials.
• Travel within and outside the district is routinely required; a county vehicle is provided.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 10 years in law enforcement.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of investigative experience.
• Must possess a Master TCOLE certification and be in good standing with TCOLE.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass background investigation, drug testing, physical, and psychological evaluation upon request.
• Interpersonal Skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals.
• Must possess good computer skills, working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Salary:

Starting salary is $73,000. County vehicle, Retirement, vacation, and health insurance are provided through Atascosa County. TCOLE training is provided.
