Estimated Starting Salary Range for

Civil Investigator:

$90,000 to $101,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Civil Investigator Responsibilities Include:

• Provides professional investigations to clarity/verify facts.
• Review correspondence and guidance for the Border Fence Project.
• Be able to understand the Right's of entry for government condemnation matters.
• Effectively communicate with landowners both verbally and in written format.
• Prepare individual Border Fence Project files.
• Prepare correspondence for assigned Border Fence Project actions.
• Makes assessment and provide written reports/analysis of information.
• Perform any task pertaining to the Border Fence Project program.
• Serves as an English/Spanish interpreter/translator.
• Travels in support of investigation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned Civil Investigator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Fifteen years law enforcement experience (preferred federal law experience).
• Experience in condemnation and working on complex investigations preferred.
• Foreign language skills are required (English-Spanish)
• Significant experience in testifying in court
• Must have above average written and oral communication skills
• Individual(s) selected will be subject to a Department of Justice background investigation.

Candidate must be able to successfully pass a Minimum Background Investigation prior to starting work on site and receive favorable adjudication of the appropriate Department of Justice background investigation consistent with a position sensitivity level 6, which requires the completion of an SF 85P/S, Questionnaire/s for Public Trust Position.

• Training and experience in federal law enforcement and/or federal investigation fields can be substituted for education.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to business users.
