Open Until Filled Crossing Guard Purpose Statement The of Crossing Guard is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for ensuring for the safety and welfare of students in transit to and/or from school;and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well-being of students. This reports to Assigned Administrator Essential Functions Assists students, parents, staff, and visitors for the purpose of providing safe access to and from assigned locations. Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform functions. Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of such information and the potential consequences of violation. Guides traffic for the purpose of ensuring the safety of students and other pedestrians. Monitors student behavior entering and exiting school grounds for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. Reports incidents (e.g. personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety. Responds to a variety of situations (e.g. altercations, accidents, injuries, vandalism, suspicious activities, etc.) for the purpose of taking the appropriate action to resolve immediate safety and/or security concerns. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single tasks using existing skills. Specific skill based competencies required satisfactorily perform the functions of the include: adhering to safety practices; and administering first aid.

KNOWLEDGE
