Job Description
Yard Duty/Noon Duty Aide
Typical Duties:
Patrol school grounds, playgrounds, corridors, restrooms and adjacent areas for the purpose of enforcing district rules and regulations as they pertain to student conduct, safety and behavior.
Monitor and supervise students in and around eating areas during brunch and/or lunch periods
Prepare necessary follow-up paperwork for documentation and actions taken as designated by procedures
Intercedes in and resolves student disagreements
Escorts students to class or to proper administrative office as needed
Employment Standards:
Knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision
Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties
Ability to learn District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior and conduct on campus
Ability to understand and carry out instructions
Ability to analyze situation accurately and adopt effective course of action
Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement in dealing with students
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
Working Conditions and Abilities:
Indoor/outdoor environment
Ability to sustain hot/cold temperatures; comfortable working in varying weather conditions
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, twist, kneel and stoop.
Physical dexterity, with ability to operate computer keyboard and other office machines.
Physical agility to lift, carry, push, pull up to five pounds on a regular basis and up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Ability to reach in all directions.
