Overview The Student Safety Proctor is responsible for providing active supervision and support to students throughout the school day while helping maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive educational environment. The Student Safety Proctor monitors student activities and transitions, assists with arrival and dismissal, supervises common areas, supports classroom and campus routines, and responds appropriately to student needs and behavioral concerns within the scope of the position. The position requires that you work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, educational coordinators, behavioral support staff, and other school personnel to promote student safety, positive behavior, and successful participation in the school program. What you'll do Student Supervision Provide active supervision of students during assigned non-instructional periods. Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, breaks, lunch, transitions, assemblies, activities, and other designated periods. Monitor student movement throughout the campus. Maintain awareness of student whereabouts and report concerns to appropriate staff. Encourage students to follow school expectations and established routines. Promote a safe, respectful, and orderly school environment. Assist students in transitioning appropriately between designated locations. Campus Monitoring Monitor hallways, common areas, playgrounds, multipurpose areas, and other assigned campus locations. Maintain a visible and attentive presence throughout assigned areas. Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, property concerns, or other issues to the appropriate administrator. Ensure students remain in authorized areas during assigned supervision periods. Assist with maintaining orderly movement of students throughout the campus. Student Arrival and Dismissal Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures. Supervise designated drop-off and pick-up areas. Assist with the safe movement of students from transportation areas to designated school locations. Help ensure students are released according to established school procedures. Report unusual circumstances or concerns to the appropriate administrator. Support transportation personnel and school staff as directed. Behavioral Support Reinforce school expectations and established behavioral procedures. Use positive reinforcement and appropriate redirection when addressing student behavior. Utilize approved de-escalation techniques when students become upset or dysregulated. Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor. Notify appropriate staff when student behavior requires additional intervention. Follow student behavior plans and school procedures when applicable. Student Safety Maintain awareness of potential safety concerns involving students, staff, visitors, and campus facilities. Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, accidents, or emergencies to designated school personnel. Assist staff during emergency drills and emergency situations as directed. Help maintain clear and safe pathways and supervised areas. Classroom and Program Support Assist teachers and other school personnel with student supervision when assigned. Support classroom transitions and movement between instructional activities. Assist with student activities, assemblies, field trips, special events, and other school programs as directed. Provide non-instructional support to students under the direction of appropriate school personnel. Help maintain an environment conducive to learning and student participation. Student Support Establish positive and appropriate professional relationships with students. Encourage students to demonstrate responsibility, respect, and appropriate conduct. Assist students in navigating daily school routines. Recognize when a student may need assistance and notify the appropriate staff member. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students. Protect student dignity and confidentiality. Communication and Reporting Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel. Report significant student behavior, safety concerns, injuries, incidents, or unusual circumstances promptly. Complete required incident reports and supervision documentation accurately. Maintain objective and professional documentation. Share student information only with authorized personnel and in accordance with school policies. Campus and School Operations Assist with maintaining an orderly school environment. Help prepare designated areas for student activities and school events. Assist with maintaining appropriate organization of student common areas. Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate department. Assist with special school events and activities as assigned. Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned by school administration. Education AND/OR Experience High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge of:

Basic math, writing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; Safe and sanitary practices in classroom and playground activities Problems and concerns of students with special needs General needs and behavior of children Basic technology skills and usage Ability to: Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, students, administrators and the public. Maintain interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance and close vision, color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
