DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT
: The Brandon School District is a mid-size school district nestled in Northwest Oakland County. The district has approximately 1,000 students in junior kindergarten-5th grade between the two elementary schools, approximately 600 at the middle school level and approximately 850 at the high school. This small, tight knit community has a strong connection to its schools and is passionate about the education of its youth. Brandon High School sends 85-90% of its graduates to post-secondary school each year, it was ranked in the 82nd percentile of all schools in the State on the top-to-bottom rankings and it was awarded as a Silver Medal Winner by the US News. Our elementary schools are both one-to-one technology are each near the 83rd percentile in State rankings.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
: Act as a presence to deter issues and report behavioral problems to appropriate staff. Ensure student safety and maintain order in school hallways and other common areas by monitoring student movement, behavior, and conduct. This position will begin at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Please note that positions contracted through Edustaff are not positions directly employed through Brandon School District. Additional application requirements are required through Edustaff and pay is provided through Edustaff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: High School Diploma Working with students in a similar capacity is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication Ability to develop positive rapport with staff, students, parents Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or chaotic situations Strong observation skills remaining aware of what is happening in various areas of the building Ability to be able to enforce rules consistently Ability to maintain confidentiality
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor student activity throughout the building to prevent misconduct. Monitor school hallways and bathrooms ensuring students have a valid pass/reason to be out of class Aid in the security of the building by checking to make sure doors are locked, etc. Work with administration to report and document student misbehaviors Create a positive and supportive school environment through positive interactions with students Supervise the lunchroom during all lunches Acting as a runner as needed to deliver passes, office items, or to retrieve things from classrooms Adhere to all District's policies and protocols Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position, and project a good public image of the School District in partnering with the community and employee groups Other duties as assigned

: Per Building Schedule(s); 7.5 hours per day (7 paid hours, .5 hours unpaid lunch)

$13.75 per hour (contracted through Edustaff)
