POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing supervision to elementary students during lunch period. This position reports to the Principal. This is a part-time position typically 2-3 hours per day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria; supervises students entering and leaving the cafeteria and assists students with the seating process; supervises social behavior of students.
Enforces cafeteria procedures and rules.
Maintains an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch (i.e., wiping off tables).
Reports inappropriate student behavior to the appropriate personnel.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience working in a school cafeteria preferred.
Light independent judgment is necessary. Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish order in the cafeteria. Requires regular contact with internal and external school personnel of decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance. Must be able to work with students in a congenial and nurturing manner.
Great communication, interpersonal skills are required.
School setting; primarily cafeteria.
Light duty - On most occasions standing in the cafeteria; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 lbs. or less.
NOTE:
This is a 180-day part-time position that pays one starting salary.
