This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and fostering a safe, engaging, and fun outdoor environment during recess and playtime. The Playground Aide will supervise students, promote positive social interactions, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children during their play activities. Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during recess and outdoor playtime to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution among students.
  • Monitor playground equipment and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Assist students in organizing games and activities, promoting teamwork and inclusivity.
  • Enforce school rules and policies related to playground behavior and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding any concerns or incidents.
  • Maintain a clean and organized playground area, ensuring it is free from hazards.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required by school administration. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate play activities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred but not required (training may be provided).
  • Must be able to pass a background check as required by school policy.
  • Availability to work part-time hours during school days, including recess times.
