The Lunchroom Supervisor is responsible for preparing, serving and cleaning up meals served in the school cafeteria. This position plays a key role in providing students with nutritious meals in a clean, safe and welcoming environment. Qualification(s) : The successful candidate will have the following: Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Previous food service experience is preferred but not required. Ability to follow directions, work efficiently and maintain cleanliness standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25lbs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepare and cook food items adhering to the National School Lunch Program. Serve meals to students and staff in a timely and friendly manner. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, steamers, mandoline and dishwashers. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving and dining areas. Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control. Wash all dishes, utensils, and equipment used in the preparation and service of food. Receive and store deliveries Assist in the counting and recording of meals served and food used as directed by immediate supervisor. Support team members with other tasks as needed in order to ensure a smooth meal service for students. Assist in the cleaning of counters, tables, washing of trays and furnishings in the lunchroom. Report any concerns to the Principal/ Building Assistant and/or Food Service Administrator. Adhere to recommended serving portions as outlined in the National School Lunch Program. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of Bellwood School District 88. Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies. Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.
