Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and community-minded Lunch and Recess Monitor to supervise students in grades PK-8 during their daily lunch and recess periods. In this role, you will ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment where students can eat, socialize, and play. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of various age groups, maintains a calm demeanor under pressure, and prioritizes student safety above all else.
Key Responsibilities Supervise Students:
Monitor classrooms, the cafeteria, the playground, and hallways during lunch and recess periods to ensure student safety and well-being.
Enforce School Rules:
Fairly and consistently reinforce school behavior expectations, playground safety guidelines, and cafeteria manners across all grade levels (PK-8).
Manage Cafeteria Flow:
Assist students with opening food packaging, cleaning up spills, and organizing recycling or trash disposal.
Facilitate Playground Play:
Monitor outdoor games, resolve minor peer conflicts peacefully, and ensure students use playground equipment safely. Respond to
Incidents:
Identify and immediately report any injuries, illness, bullying, or significant behavioral issues to the school administration or nursing staff.
Transition Students:
Assist teachers and staff in safely transitioning students to and from the cafeteria, playground, and their classrooms. This position has an hourly range of $16.00 - $17.00. An employee's pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
