Elementary Lunchroom Aide
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 10:45 AM - 1:15 PM Position Summary Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dependable and caring Lunchroom Aide to support student supervision during lunch and recess periods at the elementary level. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students. Responsibilities Supervise students in the cafeteria, serving lines, and at recess (indoor and outdoor). Assist younger students with opening food and milk containers. Encourage positive play and recommend activities to promote an orderly recess environment. Provide lunchroom cleanup between lunch periods, including sanitizing and wiping tables. Ensure safe use of play equipment and report repair needs to the building principal. Reinforce expected behavioral guidelines during lunch and recess. Report all student accidents or incidents promptly to the building principal. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Ability to work positively with children and staff. Strong supervision skills for large groups of students. Dependable, punctual, and committed to student safety. Physical Working Conditions Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Lifting, reaching, and twisting to clean cafeteria tables. Work performed both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
