2026 ELEM/MS Summer School Certified Recess Supervisor

NOTE :

This position requires two things: 1. A Missouri Substitute Certificate, which can be obtained by completing an application through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at www.dese.mo.gov. 2. Either 36 college credit hours or 20 hours of online instruction through Frontline AND a high school diploma. More information can be found at www.dese.mo.gov.

Grades K-5

• Early Start Chinn, English Landing, Graden (with Southeast), Hopewell, Line Creek, Prairie Point (with Gerner), Tiffany Ridge (with Renner)

Summer School Program Hours:

8:15 am

• 3:15 pm Grades K-5
• Traditional Start Angeline Washington (with Hawthorn),

Union Chapel Summer School Program Hours:

9:15 am

• 4:15 pm Grades 6-8 Plaza Middle School (with Congress) Lakeview Middle School (with Walden)

Summer School Program Hours:

7:15 am

• 2:15 pm

Work Hours:

Work hours will be determined by the Summer School Administrator. $18.23 per hour. Support staff working in the same position for summer school will receive their current hourly rate of pay. Minimum pay rates are noted below.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Ability to lift 40 lbs to waist height on an occasional basis. Mobility & agility to respond quickly to emergencies on hard & soft surfaces.

Building Principal or Summer School Administrator

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and direct playground supervisors. Responsible for establishing playground supervisor guidelines, directing the flow of playground student traffic and placing supervisors in position. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Plan and implement a program suitable for the students during their scheduled recess. Move about the play areas continuously (soft & hard surfaces). Resolve student conflicts in a rapid manner to ensure the safety of students.
