Immediately Job Description The High School Building Aide / In-School Suspension (ISS) Monitor supports the smooth and safe operation of the school environment by supervising students assigned to in-school suspension and assisting with general duties throughout the building. This role ensures a structured, respectful, and academically productive atmosphere while maintaining consistent communication with teachers and administrators regarding student behavior and progress. Paraeducator II licensure through the New Hampshire Department of Education is required, or must be obtained within 30 days of employment to comply with federal Title I credential requirements. The District will reimburse $100 for obtaining initial certification after hire. In-School Suspension (ISS)
Supervision:
Supervise students assigned to ISS to ensure compliance with school rules and behavioral expectations. Maintain a quiet, orderly, and respectful environment conducive to learning. Distribute and collect classwork and assignments from teachers; assist students in completing work when appropriate. Monitor student progress and submit daily attendance and behavior reports to the administration. Communicate with counselors, teachers, and administrators about recurring issues or student needs. Enforce discipline policies consistently and fairly.
Building Aide Responsibilities:
Provide supervision in common areas such as hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, parking lots, and entrances during assigned times. Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures, ensuring safety and order. Support teachers and staff with clerical or classroom tasks as directed. Respond to student or staff requests for assistance, following school safety and conduct procedures. Escort or monitor students as needed throughout the building. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to administration immediately. High school diploma or equivalent (required). Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or disciplinary situations. Demonstrated ability to enforce rules and maintain order with fairness and consistency. Basic computer literacy for reporting and communication purposes.
