Position:

Proctor

Supervisor:

Building Principal

Description:

To supervise students during the school day in various capacities and areas assigned by the building principal and also assist in main office when needed

NOTE:

The below lists are not ranked in order of importance

Essential Functions:

Ensure safety of students

Observes rules of cleanliness, dress, and grooming

Instructs and directs students to designated tables, making utensils (napkins, straws, etc.) and condiments available

Aids students in case of difficulty

Maintains discipline, instructs students on proper conduct, and encourages good eating habits. Exercises consistent, firm control

Maintains discipline and instructs students on proper conduct on the playground

Conducts orderly dismissal of students. Observes proper handling of dishes, utensils, and waste disposal.

Ensures that students remain in their seats, except in emergencies

Maintain communication with office and/or clinic regarding student injuries and/or emergencies

Fill out required paperwork

See that napkins, silverware, straws, and condiments are in ample supply during serving of students

Help restock a la carte items and general cleanup as time permits

Ensures that students do not trade food

Permits normal talking between students, but yelling is not acceptable

Handles minor behavior issues

Enforces the school Behavior Program

Be trained in basic first aid, safety, and CPR

Reports continual poor behavior to the principal

Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents and community Washes off tables and chairs after each group and promotes cleanliness Monitors and assists in cleanup in cafeteria

Checks restrooms when necessary

Monitors students in cafeteria, recess, office, bus and/or hall duty when requested

Enforces all school policies and regulations

Knowledge of computers skills, emails, and spreadsheets

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as directed by the Building Principal, while also working with the Cafeteria Manager as needed

Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens

Complies with all Louisville Board of Education policies and procedures

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Conveys organizational and problem solving skills

Demonstrates effective public relations skills

Develops and maintains a safe and efficient work environment

Performs basic computer skills as they relate to the position

Maintains working knowledge of state/federal standards/mandates that apply to the position

Equipment Operated:

Telephones, playground equipment, radios, copiers, doors, fax machines, laminator and cleaning supplies

Additional Working Conditions:

Occasional exposure to blood and body fluids

Occasional interaction among unruly children

Is able to place hands in water containing soap and disinfectants

Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 50 pounds

Occasional requirement to push and pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds (on wheels)

Must be willing and able to be on feet for long periods of time, able to walk moderate distances, and be exposed to various weather conditions
