Job Description
Playground Monitor
- Woodland
- Monday through Friday
- 3 hours per day
Hours:
11:25- 2:25(hours subject to change)Rate of pay
- $16.
Job Objectives:
Monitors students during the time they are on the playground, (or indoorsif weather does not permit outdoor recess) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.Essential Functions:
1. Communicates school policies and enforcement procedures to students during thetime that students are in the playground or at recess. 2. Intervenes in potential conflicts for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of school activities and or injury to involved parties. 3. Supervise by movement to be with children to assure coverage of playground. 4. Reports incidents to the appropriate personnel and assist with follow up as directed. 5. Understands and uses district crisis plan protocol to respond to emergencies. 6. Takes precautions to ensure staff/student safety. Watches for student behavior thatmay indicate a problem. Report concerns to an administrator. 7. Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law. 8. Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. 9. Participates in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities as directed. 10. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct. 11. Wears appropriate work attire and maintains a neat appearance. 12. Conduct other duties related to the monitor's position as assigned by the Principal.13. Must obtain a Student Monitor License throughOhio Department of EducationMinimum Qualifications:
High School diploma Documentation of a clear criminal record with evidence from BCll and FBI Self-directed and able to learn quickly Ability to manage students in a fast-paced environment Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance. Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities required: Knowledge of Basic math Ability to read and follow instructions Ability to understand written and oral instructions. Possess knowledge of security and emergency procedures. Ability to schedule activities, and collate data. Ability to work with others, solve problems and work as part of a team. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.Additional Working Conditions:
Duties may entail occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, Duties may require bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching and standing. Duties may require occasional interaction among unruly children. Duties may require the ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
