Job Description

If you enjoy working with children and ensuring their safety, the City of Altoona has a great opportunity for you as a Substitute School Crossing Guard. As a Substitute Crossing Guard, you will provide a level of safety to school students at various locations within the City of Altoona. This position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to work on an as-needed basis when regular Crossing Guards are unavailable, during the Altoona Area School District 2026 - 2027 academic year. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. and afternoons between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Ability to pass a background check Reliable transportation Benefits The City of Altoona is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
