Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Assists children and parents in safely crossing streets on the way to and from school in the morning and afternoon.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Holds stop sign, stopping motorists so children and parents may cross streets. Warns children not to cross until the proper time. Guides children and parents across the street. Maintains positive relationships with students, parents and school staff; models appropriate adult behavior. Report reckless drivers to police department.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Ability to stand and walk for extended amount of time. Ability to elevate and hold stop sign. Ability to identify and use appropriate traffic warning signals. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various worksites. Exposed to variable and possibly extreme weather conditions while on duty.
