Primary Purpose:
Stop traffic and safely escort students from one location to another. Exhibit a positive and encouraging attitude while interacting with Frisco ISD staff and the public. The average shift is 2 hours a day with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED Must be in good physical condition (including sight, hearing, and mobility) Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Complete 2-hour training class Flexible and open to changes Capable of responding in emergency situations Ability to maintain good relationship with Frisco I.S.D. staff and public
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Stop traffic to escort students across the street Complete traffic counts each semester Report traffic problems to Crossing Guard Supervisor
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm motions. Intermittent walking the equivalent of at least one mile daily. Work outside. Moderate exposure to varying temperatures and vehicle fumes. Maintain emotional control under stress.
