PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Hall Monitor will provide clerical support, disciplinary support, and staff support to assigned personnel and provide information and/or direction as it may be requested. All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our core values, communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university Pass Spring Independent School District's NCLB test in the area of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics (Tests are administered after the recommendation for hire) Educational Aide II Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
Preferred:
One+ years job related experience Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Strong organizational and people skills Ability to communicate effectively to students and staff Ability to move about campus constantly
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist with document preparation as needed Assist with student management in and around campus common areas Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned Monitor halls during the school day Lunchroom and bus duty Provide disciplinary support for students and teachers Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
