Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
To supervise students placed in temporary placement away from the regular classroom setting to ensure a quiet, secure, and structured environment where they can complete academic assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of associate degree, passing score on Parapro exam, or at least two years of college credit
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to de-escalate student behavior
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Ability to communicate with others
Basic computer skills
Ability to maintain routine records
Previous experience working with youth, managing classrooms, or serving in a paraprofessional/monitor role in education preferred
REPORTS TO
Principal or Designee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a quiet, orderly, and controlled environment.
Enforce strict compliance with school and ISS rules.
Collect coursework, test, and materials from teachers.
Distribute assignments, monitor student progress, and provide basic instructional help.
Take attendance, log assignment completion, and submit reports to teachers and/or school administrators
Coordinate with teachers, school counselors, and administrators regarding student performance and behavior.
Performs related duties and responsibilities as requested by the principal/assistant principal.
SALARY:
Based on Paraprofessional pay scale
