Purpose Statement:
The job of Safety Patrol is done for the purpose/s of assisting students crossing at busy roadways to and from school in safe and orderly manner; and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well being of students. This job reports to Supervisor of Transportation. Essential Functions- Communicates school policies and enforcement procedures to students, personnel and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.
- Directs students daily for the purpose of ensuring that students understand the rules of crossing the road.
- Prepares written materials (e.g. student reports, time sheets, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
- Reports observations and/or traffic violators that endanger students crossing for the purpose of communicating information for follow up by appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
- Stops students at intersections for the purpose of providing safe access to and from school.
- Stops traffic as necessary for the purpose of providing right away and ensuring the safety of students and other pedestrians. Other Functions
- Assists other personnel, as may be required, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
