Data Governance Documentation Specialist Location:
Connecticut (CT) or New Jersey (NJ)
Duration:

Months Contract Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Documentation Specialist to support enterprise data governance initiatives. This role will focus on creating, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality documentation, ensuring alignment with data governance standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, edit, and maintain data governance documentation including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines Review existing documentation and enhance clarity, accuracy, and consistency Collaborate with data governance teams, data stewards, and business stakeholders Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements Maintain version control and document repositories Support audit and compliance efforts by providing required documentation Follow through on documentation lifecycle from drafting to approval and publishing
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in documentation, technical writing, or data governance Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills Experience reviewing and improving existing documentation Familiarity with data management concepts (metadata, data lineage, data quality) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Banking or Financial Services domain Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR) Experience with tools like Collibra, Alation, or similar data governance platforms
