Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Records Management Specialist to lead our organization's records and information governance initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the lifecycle management of a federal government agency records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Your expertise will drive the development and maintenance of effective document management systems, enhance metadata and taxonomy structures, and promote best practices in archives management. Key Responsibilities:
Experience with the Federal Records Act. Perform records management activities according to Federal government privacy and legal requirements. NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) policies, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) standards. Manage and optimize document management systems such as SharePoint, Microsoft Purview and other content management platforms to ensure seamless access and retrieval of records. Develop, implement, and maintain metadata schemas and taxonomy frameworks to categorize, and organize information efficiently across departments. Oversee compliance management processes by ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational standards related to records retention, privacy, and security. Lead archival processing activities in accordance with archival standards, including digitization projects and preservation of historical records. Coordinate filing procedures, both physical and electronic, to ensure accurate classification, storage, and retrieval of documents. Conduct regular audits of records for accuracy, completeness, and security; implement corrective actions as needed. Provide training and guidance on information governance policies, document handling procedures, and best practices in records management.
