Position Summary The Document Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing support of Oracle Documaker solutions to produce commercial property and casualty insurance documents. In this role, the Specialist serves as a key technical contributor, ensuring document accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational stability within a highly regulated insurance environment. The Specialist manages the digitization of documents into databases, develops and maintains efficient workflows to optimize document processing and preservation. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Documaker templates to support new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, rewrites, and reinstatements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in document generation. Review and process incoming documents for workflow acceptability; produce a wide range of complex insurance documents, including policies, declarations, riders, billing statements, and regulatory notices. Implement advanced document logic leveraging DAL scripting, Rules Designer, and Documaker tables to optimize document functionality. Integrate Documaker with policy administration and billing systems for both batch and on-demand document production, enhancing operational efficiency. Maintain organized document repositories for imaged files and establish robust document and imaging workflows. Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations, DOI-approved forms and language, and effective-dated requirements to support regulatory adherence. Provide comprehensive support for testing, user acceptance (UAT), and production issue resolution, ensuring seamless document operations. Independently analyze and resolve complex document defects, data inconsistencies, and performance concerns with initiative and technical expertise. Contribute to team success by leading document initiatives, mentoring colleagues, and providing technical guidance to developers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience Five or more years of hands-on Oracle Documaker development experience, including expertise in DAL scripting, Rules Designer, and Documaker table configuration. Experience working with XML data, SQL, and batch document processing, as well as supporting high-volume document generation, print and mail workflows, and large-scale form updates and regulatory rollouts. Familiarity with state-specific and class-based insurance forms, core software applications, Intel server environments, and working knowledge of COBOL programming Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Property and Casualty insurance products and policy lifecycles Skill in analysis and problem-solving, with the ability to perform mathematical calculations, troubleshoot issues, and produce clear, accurate documentation Skill in verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Skill in organizational and time management, with attention to detail, adaptability, and initiative Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team environments with minimal supervision Skill in interpersonal interactions, with a track record of resolving conflicts, building strong relationships, and fostering collaboration across diverse teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and relevant function-specific software applications Let's talk benefits!
