Job Description

AED is seeking a Designer / Document Control professional to manage the engineering drawing database, track revisions, and maintain accurate documentation for capital and facilities projects. The ideal candidate has experience with AutoCAD, a minimum of 5 years in an engineering design role within chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, or pharmaceutical industrial facilities, and strong knowledge of document control systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer the document control system (DMS/PDM/PLM or shared drives): create records, manage versioning, set access permissions, and maintain audit trails. Receive, index, classify, and distribute incoming technical/vendor documents, drawings, manuals, certificates, and data sheets.
Maintain controlled master documents:
drawings, P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, validation protocols, test reports, and equipment records.
Support engineering change control:
prepare transmittals, track revision requests, route documents for review/approval, update affected documents, and log ECO/ECN status. Ensure timely issuance and withdrawal of obsolete documents; update document registers and engineering document lists. Coordinate with engineering, quality, EHS, procurement, maintenance, and operations to collect required signatures and approvals. Produce and maintain as-built documentation and closeout packages for projects and installations. Prepare and support internal and external audits by providing document packages, evidence of control, and change histories. Maintain drawing templates, title blocks, numbering schemes, and metadata standards; enforce naming conventions and filing structures. Perform periodic document reviews, retention/disposal actions, and ensure compliance with corporate records retention policies and regulatory requirements. Train staff on document control procedures and DMS usage; act as first-line support for document access and retrieval requests. Support digitization/scanning projects and continuous improvement of document workflows and automation where applicable.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering design supporting project and facilities work in chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, or pharmaceutical industrial facilities. Experience with AutoCAD and managing engineering drawing databases. Strong knowledge of document control systems (Web
EDMS, DMS, PDM, PLM
) and revision tracking processes. Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate and compliant records. Ability to coordinate across engineering, quality, EHS, procurement, maintenance, and operations teams.
Salary:
