This role is responsible for comprehensive regulatory compliance, remediation, and environmental supervision of 100+ locations. Oversight includes Daily's and Mountain Energy operations across Florida and North Carolina. Requires extensive knowledge of environmental laws and proactive risk management.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for wholesale and retail fuel operations 2. Coordinate routine compliance testing for petroleum tanks and dispensing systems 3. Implement risk assessment and mitigation strategies; evaluate spill response and emergency procedures as needed 4. Monitor regulatory changes; revise applicable policies and procedures accordingly 5. Coordinate real-time emergency response and prompt reporting for fuel releases 6. Plan and organize remediation activities for contaminated sites 7. Maintain and manage required permits, inspections, and environmental audits 8. Assess UST compliance programs for efficacy; includes leak detection, testing, and reporting procedures 9. Collaborate with Operations, Legal, and vendor teams to ensure consistent compliance procedures 10. Evaluate and advise on environmental liability involving real estate transactions 11. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for site development, storage, and environmental controls 12. Oversee insurance claims related to remediation, releases, and compliance 13. Ensure timely permitting and funding for tank installation, extraction, and disposal of hazardous materials 14. Foster positive relationships with regulatory agents 15. Coordinate and manage environmental and maintenance vendors 16. Supervise environmental and field personnel
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 18+ years of age 2. Bachelor's degree in related field 3. 5+ years of professional experience in environmental compliance and remediation 4. Valid Driver License, clean driving record, and ability to drive independently 5. Advanced understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and UST compliance requirements 6. Intricate knowledge of state funded remediation programs in Florida and North Carolina 7. Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and schematics 8. Skilled at directing simultaneous projects, to include timely and effective communication with applicable parties 9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database software, and web-based communication platforms 10. Must pass a pre-hire drug screen, background, and MVR 11.
Preferred:
CHMM or PE certification
Physical and Mental Requirements:
1. Articulate, professional verbal and written communication in English; effectively hear, speak, read, and write 2. Sufficient close visual acuity to accurately perform reading and typing functions on standard computer systems 3. Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and carry short distances4. Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods during meetings, site visits, trade shows, and other events 5. Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision and generate timely progress reports 6. Interpersonal aptitude; must effectively work with clients, vendors, and company personnel of all levels 7. Refined analytical and organizational skills; ability to adapt in a multi-task, multi-location, corporate business environment with fluctuating priorities 8. Adequate patience for providing mentorship and training to junior colleagues
Work Environment:
1. Responsibilities primarily performed in a traditional office setting 2. Independent travel to field locations 3. Duties executed at retail convenience and fueling sites may involve inclement weather and other unforeseeable conditions
