AES Indiana is looking for a NERC Compliance Engineer to help strengthen the reliability, safety, and performance of our power operations. In this role, you will support renewable and thermal assets by helping ensure compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Regional Entity standards, while partnering closely with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams. What You'll Do Monitor, interpret, and support implementation of applicable NERC Reliability Standards for facilities. Develop, maintain, and execute compliance programs, procedures, and documentation in partnership with the NERC Compliance team. Support coordination of NERC and Regional Entity audits , spot checks, and self-certifications. Analyze protection system settings, generator performance models, and operational data to ensure compliance. Collaborate with plant engineers and operators to integrate compliance requirements into design changes, maintenance, and operational practices. Maintain accurate compliance records, evidence, and reporting in accordance with AES and regulatory requirements. Provide training and guidance to plant personnel on compliance obligations. What We're Looking For Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

Experience in power , transmission, NERC compliance, or a related technical environment. Strong knowledge of

NERC O&P

(Operations & Planning) and CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards. Familiarity with generator protection systems, control systems, and performance modeling. Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to manage priorities, collaborate across teams, and follow work through to completion in a dynamic environment. Qualifications NERC Compliance Certification with Focus on renewable and thermal assets. Experience with compliance management software tools. Prior participation in NERC audits or investigations. Demonstrated ownership, follow-through, and sound judgment when managing work with appropriate guidance and support. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
