Full-time, exempt Start date: ASAP We are hiring an Environmental Compliance Engineer to own air permitting and environmental compliance across our fleet and project sites. This is a hands-on mid-level individual contributor role. You will be the person Operations calls before a mobilization to answer whether we can run, under what limits, and how long authorization will take. You will work independently, serve as the technical resource on environmental matters, and spend real time at sites rather than managing compliance from a desk.

What the position owns:

Air permitting. Prepare and manage construction and operating permit applications, general permits, permits-by-rule, and source registrations for reciprocating engines and gas turbines across multiple state jurisdictions. Permitting strategy for mobilization. Determine the fastest compliant path to authorization for each deployment, and advise Operations and Commercial on realistic timelines before commitments are made. Emissions recordkeeping and reporting. Maintain runtime, fuel consumption, and emissions records; manage source testing and monitoring requirements; prepare emissions inventories, deviation reports, and annual certifications. Fuel and spill programs. Develop and maintain SPCC plans, oversee tank and containment inspections, and manage spill notification and reporting obligations. Water and waste. Administer stormwater permitting and site BMPs; manage hazardous waste generator status, manifests, used oil handling, and container management at shop and site. Regulatory monitoring. Track federal and state rule changes affecting stationary and mobile power generation - NSPS, NESHAP, state minor source programs - and translate them into operational requirements. Agency interface. Serve as the primary contact for state and local environmental agencies on applications, inquiries, inspections, and follow-up. Site support and readiness. Conduct pre-mobilization environmental reviews, brief crews on permit conditions in plain language, and prepare sites for inspection. Consultant management. Scope and direct outside environmental consultants and testing firms where specialized work is required.

Qualifications:

5-8+ years of environmental compliance experience, with demonstrated air permitting ownership Bachelor's degree in environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering, environmental science, or a related field - or equivalent experience Working knowledge of Clean Air Act programs Experience calculating potential and actual emissions, and applying emission factors and vendor data Familiarity with

SPCC, RCRA
