In this vital role, you will ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and legal requirements to promote a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants. Your expertise will help maintain a safe environment while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations related to firearm handling, environmental protection, and public safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to responsible firearm use and environmental stewardship within a dynamic outdoor setting. Duties Enforce safety protocols during firearm handling, shooting activities, and range operations to prevent accidents and injuries Conduct safety briefings for participants on proper firearm use, range rules, and emergency procedures Monitor environmental compliance by ensuring adherence to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards, stormwater management practices, and air permitting requirements Manage traffic control safety protocols to coordinate vehicle movement within the range area effectively Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all personnel follow PPE guidelines for outdoor work environments Participate in permitting phases related to environmental law, including the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance projects Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incident reports, environmental compliance documentation, and training logs Communicate effectively with staff and visitors about safety procedures, environmental regulations, and emergency response plans Requirements Proven experience in outdoor work environments with a focus on safety or environmental compliance Knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), EPA regulations, and environmental permitting processes Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and Vital Signs assessment preferred Strong understanding of firearm handling safety protocols and firearm handling best practices Ability to interpret traffic laws related to outdoor activity areas and implement traffic control safety measures Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear reports and convey safety instructions effectively Experience with stormwater management practices and environmental regulatory compliance projects is highly desirable Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards Valid certification or licensing related to environmental law or regulatory compliance is a plus Join us as a Range Safety Officer where your dedication to safety, environmental responsibility, and excellent communication will foster a secure environment for all participants.
