  • Full-time The Hanover Public School District is seeking a forward-thinking, collaborative, and solutions-oriented leader to serve as Assistant Director of Technology.
This position plays a key role in supporting the district's technology operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, software systems, application development, and instructional technology initiatives. The successful candidate will help lead and support technology systems that directly impact teaching, learning, district operations, student services, and staff productivity. This is an excellent opportunity for a technology professional who enjoys both hands-on technical work and strategic leadership in a K-12 educational environment, as it requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to supporting students, staff, and district goals. Benefits Hanover Public School District offers a stable, year-round schedule and a strong benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance coverage Choice of two medical plans: High PPO and Base PPO Flexible Spending Account with district contribution Participation in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) Optional 403(b) retirement savings plan Paid holidays and vacation time, along with personal, bereavement, and sick leave Essential Responsibilities Assist with the planning, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of district-wide technology systems Support the management of network infrastructure, servers, devices, cybersecurity systems, and data platforms Help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of district technology services Contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of custom web-based applications Support database systems, data integrations, reporting tools, and system interoperability Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to support effective technology use in teaching, learning, and daily operations Assist with evaluating, recommending, and implementing new technologies, systems, and process improvements Provide leadership, guidance, and support to technology staff and district users Help manage technology projects, timelines, documentation, and implementation plans Support district efforts related to cybersecurity, data privacy, compliance, and responsible technology use Troubleshoot complex technical issues and coordinate solutions across systems and departments Promote a service-oriented, innovative, and student-centered approach to technology Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Educational Technology, or related field 3+ years of experience in IT systems, software development, technology support, or technology leadership Experience with web application development Understanding of databases, data systems, and system integrations Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with both technical and non-technical users About Hanover Public School District The Hanover Public School District is committed to excellence in education by nurturing, challenging, and inspiring all students to achieve their full potential and become productive citizens in a global community.
